IPG ─ Gutachten zum internationalen und ausländischen Privatrecht (Reports on Private International and Foreign Law)

Judges and lawyers are confronted daily with facts of a case whose legal completion demands the application of foreign law. The question of the relevant legal system is often no less complicated than the determination and application of foreign substantive law. Thus, practitioners regularly obtain scholarly expert advice from German academic institutes or from the Max-Planck-Institute of Private International and Foreign Law.

On behalf of the German Council of Private International Law, these reports are published in the series “IPG”, making them accessible to the experts. The annual volumes contain a representative range of the delivered expert reports. They are structured according to the relevant areas of law and introduced by a detailed list of laws, a treaty index, and a subject index.

The „IPG“ series has been published by the Verlag Ernst und Werner Gieseking GmbH, Bielefeld, since 1999. Previous volumes have been published for the years 1965-1988 and 1996-1998 (the latter published by NOMOS-Verlag, Baden-Baden, and still available there).
